The ODA mediates Adverse Impact cases…

The Office of Degree Authorization assists in preventing the unnecessary use of public funds to establish post-secondary programs at Oregon public colleges and universities that duplicate those provided by private institutions, and mediates disputes regarding new programs among different education sectors. The ODA Administrator reviews all proposed new publically-funded postsecondary programs and locations under OAR 583-040, disallowing those what would cause duplication that may have an adverse impact on other educational institutions, ODA also mediates the discussions between representatives of various education sectors, when asked, and oversees the review process brought about by an adverse impact complaint
